As far as quality goes, I wish the BH shadows had a bit more staying power--they tend to fade after a few hours, even with primer, and the case is about as big as a tablet computer, therefore not conducive to carrying with you for touch-ups. (Of course, I could get one of those cute tablet bags and just carry around the makeup case instead, make everyone think I'm cool enough to have a tablet...) But the Sugarpill is phenomenal in its shine and staying power, as well as just how far a little bit can go! I did my whole eyelid with just the dust that had gotten stuck to the inside of the lid of the container! And it's just as shiny applied as it is in the bottle! The Lime Crime colors are wonderful as well; like I said, Glamour 101 is the shade of red that I've been searching for my whole life. Gotta be my absolute favorite color. Both that and Styletto have pretty good staying power, but they come off when I eat a meal, and unless I blot like hell, they come off on my boyfriend's lips, haha. (Hey, that's a legitimate requirement!) So I've got some work to do with those, because I get the feeling it's just because I'm not really experienced with lipstick.
However, I wanted the black because I'd seen a lot of really cool gradient lip looks on MakeupBee, fading from black around the edges to various colors in the center of the lips, and I thought it was so cool and flattering that I wanted to try. This is my first attempt, so it needs work, but I thought it went with the eye excellently.

And of course I had to go to the lovely Urban Decay for lip- and eyeliner.
Here's a closeup of the lips:
Again, the edges aren't perfect, and neither is the blending, but it's a start. And I really liked wearing it!
And a closeup of the eye:
I absolutely loved wearing this! I'm really starting to like the smoky eye look, I think it's quite flattering (and sexy), and as such I find myself getting better at blending. Sugarpill lends itself so well to blending; it just lays over the other colors and maintains its own sparkle all the while. I loved wearing this, even if my mom might have thought I was going a little goth! But she really is very supportive, and she knows that I like what I like!
It's not nearly as impressive with my eyes closed... Don't know why that is.
You can see the Sugarpill sparkle pretty well in this one!
Man, gotta love the image quality on that camera.

Ohmygosh a follower! Thank you so much!! :D
DeleteYeah, the Sugarpill is to die for. I too wish I could have gotten more (Burning Hearttt~), but I'm definitely happy with what I did get! What did you end up with?
And the Lime Crime is really nice; I -do- love the colors themselves, they're very pure. I know there was some talk about Glamour 101, whether it had berry or warm undertones, so as far as that goes I can say mine is more warm, and that's exactly how I wanted it. As for the wear, I chalk that up to my not being very good with lipstick yet... I also didn't have a lip brush at my mom's house and was applying from the tube, which I'm told is a big no-no. So I'll have to get a second opinion on that aspect when I can do it better. :P
Love this look! the sugarpill looks awesome. I definitely really really like it. The lips too... its something I've never tried before. But it looks so good on you that it makes me want to give it a shot! (lets hope I don't fail miserably)

Thank youu for the comment and the follow! Yaay!
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you for the compliment! I reeeally like the Sugarpill as well; I'm definitely going to showcase the two colors I have more in future looks, not just as corner colors (though they do work really well for that). And I was wary of the lips at first, then convinced I couldn't do it when I practiced, but this time turned out much better. It's a very flattering style, I think; makes your lips seem large and full because of the brighter color in the middle. I'm hoping to try this with other colors as well, not just red! I definitely wish you good luck, and I hope to see the results! I'm sure you can do it, if I could! :)
